Lionel Cheri

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at the age of 88 on Thursday, June 2, 2011. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, June 8th from 9am until 10:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge, at 11am. Internment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in New Orleans at 1:30pm on Wednesday, June 8th. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith S. Cheri daughters, Carolyn, Andrea, Edith A. and Denise Cheri sons, Lionel L. Cheri Jr and wife, Marianne Carey M. Cheri and wife Kristen grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Christopher, Jonathan and Elizabeth Cheri sisters, Selika C. Brown and husband George R. and Miriam Cheri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand and Rosa Cheri brothers, Fernand, Emmett and Earl. He was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Holy Name Society, honorary member of Beau Brumell Club and a member of Knights of Peter Claver. Resthaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
