Linda Mancuso Smith, age 75, a resident of Walker, LA, passed away on April 17, 2023. She grew up in Baton Rouge, graduating from Baton Rouge High School in 1965. After high school, Linda married Billy Smith in 1966. When they met, Billy thought he was just going on a boat ride with a friend and some girls were tagging along. He didn’t realize that the girls had planned it as a double date. Linda originally was paired with Billy’s friend, but once she got there, there was something about Billy that drew her to him. Luckily her friend was willing to switch, and it led to a happy marriage of 57 years.
After marriage, Linda took care of the house and the 3 children they had together. She spent most of her time devoted to her husband, children and later grandchildren and great grandchildren. Linda and Billy both had a passion for traveling together. Some of their favorite trips included Alaska, Hawaii, and California. They also went on 17 cruises together and would often go on road trips without a destination, just enjoying what they found along the way.
Many will remember how they often saw Linda praying or reading her Bible; her family knew they could always count on her to be their prayer warrior. When she wasn’t doing something church related, she loved to watch the Hallmark channel. Linda’s personality could be summed up by saying “I love Lucy”. She was incredibly loving to her family and was very silly, something hilarious often happened when she was around.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Hazel Mancuso and siblings, Jimmy Mancuso and Ronald Mancuso. She is survived by her husband, Billy Smith; children: Todd (Kay) Smith, Kim (Cory) Rogers, and Amy Smith; grandchildren: Kyle Smith, Preston Wallace, Paige Smith, Hannah Wallace, and Holly Wallace; great grandchildren: Blaysen, Charlie, Josie, and Sadie; siblings: Larry (Bertha) Mancuso, Vickie (Eugene) Seal, and Tammy (Alton) Buhler, and many other close family members.
