Linda Dedebant Macke, dearly-loved mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was 70. She was a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana. She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy, New Orleans, in 1968, and worked in the banking and finance industry for 20 years at First National Bank of Jefferson Parish/Hibernia National Bank Metairie before bringing her talents to the automobile industry, where she worked as a sales consultant for 30 years, including at Crown Buick GMC Metairie, Cadillac Hummer of Metairie/Cadillac of New Orleans Metairie, Sewell Cadillac Chevrolet New Orleans, McIlwain Cadillac/Murphy Graham Cadillac Metairie, LA. Incredibly strong and independent, fearless and feisty, Linda was a fighter, who encouraged her children to Never Give Up. Linda was a single mother whose devotion to her sons was immeasurable. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Sylvan Dedebant and Betty Borgstede Dedebant; the father of her children, Thomas Santora, Sr.; and her beloved Chow-Chows, Pepperoni (“Pepper”) and Oreo (“Diva”). She is survived by her sons, Thomas “Tommy” Santora, Jr., (Whitney) and Michael Santora (Kim Spiegel); her sister, Nancy Dedebant Pavon (Melchor); her nieces, Kristie DiVincenti Schayot (James) and Brianna Pavon (Nicole Avendano); her nephews, Louis DiVincenti, Jr., (Jackie) and Sean Dedebant (Sarah Krifka); her great-nephew, Parker John Schayot; and her great-nieces, Palmer Rose and Piper Claire Schayot and Audrey Dedebant. Linda’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of those who loved her and were proud to call her theirs. She will be sincerely and deeply missed. A private gathering of family, friends and cookie cake will be held at a later date to celebrate all-things Linda.
