Lincoln Albert Widmer passed away peacefully on April 17, 2017, after a courageous battle for life. He was born June 6, 1949 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Rumor has it that his true place of birth was in the Brazilian bush.
Lincoln loved travelling the world. He found great joy in sailing his hand-built boat, the S/V Spindrift, and mountain hiking. His grandchildren were the lights of his life. He retired from DSM Elastomers, as Marketing Director in Brazil.
Lincoln is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Widmer; his son, Damian Widmer and his wife Abby; and three grandchildren, Anna, Will, and Dean Lucas. He is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Poggetti and husband, Renato of Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Ingrid Seeholzer and husband Anthony of Bassersdorf, Switzerland; a brother, Edison Widmer of Switzerland; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lydia Widmer.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 9:30 am until a funeral service at 11:00 am.
