Lillie Kent

Lillie W. Kent, age 91, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at her home on September 28, 2022.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years Andrew John Kent (A.J.), her three daughters Dottie Granger, Yvonne Sanford (Frank), Wanda Simmons (Kirk). Brother Clifton Williams (Jane) and sister Frances Black. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melissa Brown (Jason), Lauren Sibley (Cheyene), Jefferey Sanford (Katie), Danielle Lange (Dustin), Victoria Hymel (Joshua), Nicole Simmons (Daniel-Fiance'), and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son Michael Andrew Kent, her parents, E.E. Williams and Lillie P. Williams, brother John Edward, and son-in-law Frank Granger, III.

Visiting hours will take place at Istrouma Baptist Church on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10:00-12:00, until services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven.

Pallbearers will be Jefferey Sanford, Jason Brown, Cheyene Sibley, Dustin Lange, Joshua Hymel, and Andre’ Zeringue. Honorary pallbearers Kirk Simmons and Daniel Decoteau.

Flowers are appreciated and any donations may be made in the memory of Lillie Kent to Istrouma Baptist Church missions.

She was a long-time member of Istrouma Baptist Church. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. David Fontenot and Ms. Audry, Curtisa Johnson, Zhanna Bennett, and Bro. Tom Higginbotham.
