A retired DuPont employee, he died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 92 and a native of Plaquemine. The Rev. Mike Schatzle of St. George Catholic Church conducted a private service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Mausoleum of Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife, Nell R. Griffon; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy G. and Bill Bolding, of Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Les and Lynne N. Griffon, and Kevin D. and Pam H. Griffon, all of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mary G. Carville, Mercedese Carville, Bubba Rayne and Gerry Rainey, all of Plaquemine; a brother, Warren Griffon, of Plaquemine; three grandchildren, Shane Griffon, Jansen Griffon and Kristen Griffon; and a great-granddaughter, Carsen Griffon. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Griffon Jr.; sister, Melanie Landry; and two brothers, Charles A. Griffon Jr. and Haydell Griffon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
