It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of our beloved brother in Christ Lester Bernard Falgoust on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born in Vacherie, LA on April 19, 1936 and was a resident of Baton Rouge.
Lester was a graduate of St. James High School where he met the love of his life, Myrna. He was a 1958 graduate of Louisiana State University. He served in the Army National Guard for 10 years and rose to the level of Captain. He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 24 years where he retired. He was an avid fan of LSU sports and a season ticket holder for over 63 years.
Lester was preceded in death by his mother and father, Paul Nelson and Gertrude Tregre Falgoust, his brother Preston Falgoust, his sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Larry Martin, his brother-in-law Roger Rousseau, his sister-in-law Eloise Falgoust, his mother and father-in-law Clarence and Annette Simon Waguespack, his brother-in-law Reverend Clarence J. Waguespack, his sister-in-law Annette Folse and his brothers-in-law Etienne Zeringue and Manuel Amedee. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrna Waguespack Falgoust, his five children and their spouses: Theresa Chauncy, Stephen and Catherine Falgoust, Connie and César Corzantes, Donald and Michelle Falgoust and Christie and Richard Lacour. He had nineteen adoring grandchildren, one great grandchild and two more on the way. He is also survived by his brother Herman Falgoust, his sister Gertrude F. Rousseau, his sister-in-law Mona T. Falgoust, sisters-in-law Janet Zeringue and Claire W. Amedee, brother-in-law Terry Folse, brother-in-law Raymond Waguespack and his wife Mary Jean, who all mourn deeply in his passing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, April 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will resume at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Tuesday April 6th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will occur after the funeral Mass at St. George mausoleum.
Donations may be made to the Fr. Clarence J. Waguespack Baton Rouge Diocese Seminary Scholarship Fund in memory of Lester B. Falgoust at the Office of Vocations, P.O. Box 2028, Baton Rouge, LA 70821. Other donations may be made to a charity or organization of your choice.
