Leroy Terrio, Sr.

LeRoy James Terrio, Sr. who was a resident of Zachary, passed away on March 15, 2016.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Lee is survived by his children, Leroy J. Terrio, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, Debra Terrio Landry and her husband, Lloyd Landry, Jr., Margaret Terrio Westcott and her husband, Gary, Cheryl Terrio Taylor and her husband Lawrence, Thomas Terrio and his wife, Susan, Donna Terrio Aarons and her husband, Chris, Mark Terrio and his wife, Lynne; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa LeBlanc Terrio; his parents, David and Celine Terrio; brothers, Norley D. Terrio and Curlin J. Terrio; grandson, Samuel Simmons, Jr. and great-grandson, Korbin Reece Simmons.

Lee was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he was also a member of the Men's Club, as well as a Eucharistic Minister. His wife, children and grandchildren were his world. He was a hard-working, faith instilling, loving father and grandfather. He was an inspiration to any and to all who knew him.

Special thanks to our caregivers Ketra, Gayle, Teresa and Ann. We are especially thankful to the nurses and staff Clarity Hospice for their care.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, March 18, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until time of services. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, officiant will be Father Jeff Bayhi.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
