Lera Gremillion

Lera Caffarel Gremillion passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 92. She was a native of Plaquemine, Louisiana and a resident of Baton Rouge. Lera was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She is survived by sons and daughtersinlaw, Reginald M. Jr. and Dayna Gremillion, Stephen P. and Debbie Gremillion, and Dennis J. and Nancy Gremillion daughters and sonsinlaw, Jane and Jim Callender, Mary and Fred Matens, and Alice G. Fleetwood and Geoff Van Schepen, Diane and Bill Gottschalk, and Anita G. Kennedy and former spouse Michael D. Kennedy brothers, Carl and Roy Caffarel 22 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald M. Gremillion, Sr. daughter, Joan Marie Gremillion her father, Cyril A. Caffarel mother, Isabel Blanchard sisters, Elaine Schlatre and Betty Rabalais brothers, Cyril and Edward Caffarel and daughterinlaw, Trudy Janney Gremillion. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 4 pm until 6 pm and will continue at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70809 on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Louisiana, 3636 South I10 Service Rd. Suite 304, Metairie, LA 70001, and the TS Alliance, 801 Roeder Rd., Suite 750, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The family would like to give special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Sunrise Assisted Living on Siegen Lane and Hospice in His Care.
