Leona Parnell Wunstel began her life on April 4, 1928, and with quiet dignity left us on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 60 years, James Wunstel Sr. From this union, she is survived by her children, Julie Wunstel Rollins and her husband, Phillip Rollins, Robin Wunstel White and her husband, Mack Bodi White, Marty Wunstel and his wife, Loretta Wunstel, James Wunstel Jr. and his wife, Mary Wunstel. Also survived by three sisters, Ruth Planchet and her husband, George Planchet, Rosa Verret, and Sarah Ledet and her husband, Elroy Ledet nine grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Ann Parnell brother, John Victor Parnell and sisters, Florence Coupel and Mary Jane Rogers. Pallbearers will be Hector Orozco, Sanford Dejean, Willard Castillo, Whitney Ducker, John Ledet and Mack A. White III. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul Taylor. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Her children shall rise up and call her blessed, her husband also. Proverbs 31:28.
