A retired employee of Ciba-Giegy and founder of Hebert Cycles in 1981, he died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was 77, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Hackberry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 23, from 10:30 am. until Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mike Schatzle, celebrant. Cremation to follow. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Earline M. Hebert; granddaughter, Peyton Hebert, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Edith Viator, of Sulphur, and Loviner Nelson, of Bay City, Texas; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Hebert; brother, Clifford James Hebert; two sisters, Eunice Hebert and Anna Mae Hebert Sears; and parents, Noah and Sophie Hebert. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
