A resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was 80. Visiting at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70818, on Friday, April 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. until an Eastern Star service at 10 a.m. followed by religious service, conducted by Brother Kevin Hand and the Rev. T.W. Terrell. Survived by a daughter, Paula Jennings two sons, Harry Breeden Jr. and wife JoAnne, and Lyndon K. Breeden Sr. and wife Sandy two sisters, Dolly Shoemaker, and Ruby Nelson and husband Roy brother, James and wife Polly Wells seven grandchildren, Timmy Breeden, Tonya OBrien, Toni Robertson, Brandon Jennings, Tracy Jennings, Lyndon Breedon Jr. and Jacob J. Breeden and nine greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Breeden Sr. parents, Claude and Gertrude Wells and two brothers, Norman Wells and C.O. Wells. Pallbearers will be Timmy Breeden, Lyndon Breeden Jr., Jacob Breeden, Brandon Jennings, Travis Robertson and Ricky OBrien. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, former member of Lanier Baptist Church and member of the Order of Eastern Star MyrtleCeleste Chapter 231. The family would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Susie Day, a family friend and caregiver. The family would also like to thank members of Zoar Baptist Church for all the special needs that were provided to the family. In addition, we would like to personally thank Lane Regional Medical Center ICU staff members, Dr. Greta Wikes and Dr. Jeffrey Gune. Also Baton Rouge General Medical CenterMid City and its ICU staff, especially Dr. Chris Woodard and Dr. Stephen Brierre. In addition, we would like to thank The Carpenter House and staff, St. Josephs Hospice team consisting of Brandi LeDuff, LPN, Sherrell Bearden, R.N., Chaplin Dale DeLaune, Ginny Barton, S.W., and special thanks to Dr. Karla Pope. In lieu of flowers, we would like to requests donations to the Alzheimers Association or St. Joseph Hospice Foundation.
