Leila Avery Presson, native of Montgomery, Ala and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the age of 76. She leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, Robert Presson daughter, Cathryn Presson sister, Sybil Bateman and nieces and nephews, Wendy Bateman, David Bateman, and Lynn McKnight. She is preceded in death by her parents, Durwood and Inez Avery and brotherinlaw, Bill Bateman. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers include Pete McKnight, Ian McKnight, David Bateman, Drew Bateman, Randy Malbrough, AJ Collura. Honorary pallbearers include Fred McMillan, Stafford Lambert, and Greg Presson. Leila was a long time member and Baptism Coordinator for Immaculate Conception in Denham Springs. She loved taking care of her family and her cats and dogs. She was a big LSU fan and enjoyed gardening. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Cancer Services of Baton Rouge.
