Lawrence “Huck” Kent Barry, Sr., passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in McComb, MS.
Born on February 14, 1932, in Lafayette, LA to Sylvester and Effie Barry, Lawrence lived a long life surrounded by family and was a loving and patient man, especially with the children in his life. He graduated from USL in Lafayette with a degree in business before joining the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk in the Korean War. He owned several R.V. Campers throughout his life and traveled across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He also loved nature, fishing, and motorcycles.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Passman Barry; parents Sylvester and Effie Barry; brother Lindsey Barry; and stepsons Greg Harvey, Kevin Harvey, and Brad Harvey.
Lawrence is survived by his children Juli Pitcher (Joey), Lawrence Barry Jr. (Cindy), Steven Barry (Susan); stepson Darrel Harvey (Gladys); grandchildren Jennifer Whatley, Heather Harvey Joyce (Thomas), Wynter Harvey Roy, Trent Harvey (Edie), Sarah Barry Brumfield (Chris), Stephen William Barry Jr. (Dawn), Gregory Robards and Cody Robards; great-grandchildren Sophie Broussard, Thomas Joyce, Elaina Joyce, Porter Ayme, Liam Barry, Finn Barry, Maddie Haagensen, Mally Harvey, and Dottie Harvey.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation which will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home at 10:00a.m. until Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m.
