Laura Smith

Laura Jeanne Smith (54) of Charlotte, NC went to Heaven on August 19, 2021.

Laura was born in South Bend, Indiana to Jack and Nancy Cook on June 14, 1967. She married Michael Lee Smith 27 years ago on November 6, 1993 in Plano, Texas. Laura has lived in many places including Dallas, Texas; Virginia Beach, Virginia; The Woodlands, Texas; and Charlotte, North Carolina. She worked as an interior decorator and event planner on the side while being a stay at home Mother. She was involved in the community and the church giving back as much as she could. Her favorite things to do were to decorate, watch HGTV, cook, and lay on the beach. She was a total beach bum! Laura was a devoted Christian and lived her life for the Lord. She will be remembered as an outgoing, selfless, loving Mother and Wife.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Nancy Cook.

Laura is survived by her husband Michael Smith, children Callan and Landon Smith, and siblings Douglas Cook, Barbara Thrall, Peggy Force, and David Cook.

There will be a viewing in Charlotte, NC at Heritage Funeral Home on September 1, 2021 from 5-7pm. The funeral home is located at 3700 Forest Lawn Dr, Matthews NC 28104.

The funeral will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 on September 25, 2021. There will be a viewing before the service from 8:00-10:00am and the service will begin at 10:00am.

Following the service, the family of Laura would love to enjoy time with their family and friends over lunch. There will be a private room for the attendees of the service at Bistro Byronz. Everyone is welcomed to join! Meals average $10-$15 each. Bistro Byronz is located at 8200 Village Plaza Court in Baton Rouge.
