La'Chante Floyd

A sixth-grade student at Iberville Parish Math, Science Arts Academy, she died at noon on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at age 12. She was a resident of Plaquemine and a native of Gretna. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Dec. 7, from 8:30 a.m. until chapel service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gary McClure. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by her father and stepmother, Leviticus Chad and Teri Floyd, of Plaquemine; mother, Stacey Hines, of Harvey; maternal grandparents, Clement and Gloria Hines; paternal grandparents, Leonard Charles Washington and Gracie Mae Floyd; paternal stepgrandparents, Frank and Delores Herron; paternal great-grandmother, Lela Washington; a stepbrother, Dallas Amond; aunts, Denise Cason, Debra Burrell, Sharon Hines, Michelle Hines, Kiehiana Hines, Kioca Hines, Faith Joy Floyd and Grachell Floyd; and uncles, Dennis Hines, Frederick Hines, Tracey Tyrone Hines, Vincent Hines, Jeffrey Stovall and Willie Stovall. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Mona Hines; and cousins, Ashley Hines, Edward Barnes, Ricky Hines Jr., Ariel Hines, Reginald Hines, Rickey Hines Jr. and Sandra Hines. Pallbearers will be Douglas Secrest, Dallas Amond, Frank Herron, Michael Fluker, Brandon Hines, Chad Zylks, Jeffery Stovall, Darnell Wilson and David Mayers.
