Kevin Joseph Matherne, 61, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Sept 6, 2021.
Kevin was born February 22, 1960 to Marie Rivet Brown and Clifton Matherne. He worked in the oil industry for 30 years and enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling as a “Pageant Dad”. Kevin will be remembered for his loving devotion to his family and for being a hard working man who touched everyone’s lives with kindness and his funny personality. Kevin was from Raceland but a resident of Kentwood for over 20 years where he enjoyed life on his very own “ranch”.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy Guillot Matherne, their daughter Kaitlyn Matherne, his step-son Cory Guillot (Kendra), granddaughter Kennedy Guillot, and mother and father in law Kate and Melvin Guillot. Kevin is also survived by his loving mother Marie Brown, his brothers Timothy Matherne and Rene’ Matherne, and sister Marilyn Matherne (Mike), step-mother Evelyn Matherne and his step-siblings JoAnn Savage, Debbie Riale, Poncho, Cisco and Ray Matherne along with their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Clifton Matherne and his step-father Menton Brown.
Arrangements by Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home. Visitation will be at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland, La on October 8th, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Liver Foundation.
