Kevin Lavergne

May 10, 1963 — December 25, 2012

Passed away in his sleep due to a heart attack on Christmas morning, Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the age of 49. He was a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Wanda Hidalgo one daughter, Ellen Camille Lavergne sister, Michelle H. Barton brothers, Tim Lavergne and wife Janice, Scott Lavergne and wife Tonya, and Jeff Hidalgo and wife Debbie and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Milton Lavergne Jr. and brother, Bradley Hidalgo. Kevin loved fishing at his camp in Cocodrie and playing Texas Holdem. Family was very important to him and he was always there for any member of his family who needed a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His daughter Camille was the center of his world. He was a Master Carpenter and took great pride in his work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27 from 5pm until 8:30 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, and will resume on Friday, December 28 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 15615 Old Jefferson Hwy. Pallbearers will be Anthony Gray, John Fore, Marcus Bailey, Dakota Lavergne, Scott Lavergne, Tim Lavergne, Jacob Cooley and Gerard Lavergne. Honorary pallbearers will be Michelle Hidalgo, Travis Lavergne, Jeff Hidalgo.
