A retired Brand scaffolding worker, he died at 10:22 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 73, a resident of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Navy veteran. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Jan. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel on Friday from 11 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his mother, Edna Hymel two daughters and sonsinlaw, Rhonda and Gene Gregoire and Michelle and Pete Estave son and daughterinlaw, Jody and Teresa Hymel two sisters, Judy Goudeau and husband J.W. Boogie and Darlene Lopez and husband Mike two brothers, Trelles Hymel, and Burke Hymel and wife Ilene five grandchildren, Todd Gergoire, Cindi Gregoire, Ashley Estave, Austin Estave and Ashton Estave and two greatgrandchildren, Scottie Thibodeaux and Ava Thibodeaux. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Strickland Hymel and father, Alvin Hymel. Family would like to thank the physicians and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for the care they gave to Mr. Hymel.
