Kenneth "Kenny" Jarreau

Kenneth Wayne Jarreau (known to all as "Kenny") was born August 25, 1956, to Joseph Alley Jarreau, Jr. and Minerva Ann Vaccarro Jarreau, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Young Kenny grew up on Sevenoaks Avenue in Baton Rouge; and later at the LSU Research Stations, where his father was a research supervisor, at the Idlewild Plantation, in Clinton Louisiana, and at Burden Farm and Rural Life Museum, in Baton Rouge. He grew up playing outside, going fishing, catching baby alligators, and driving fast muscle cars and competing in motocross bike races with his cousin, Ricky Musacchia. Kenny graduated from Tara High School in Baton Rouge, in 1975.

Kenny’s talents lay in a number of trades he worked in during his adult life. He was a master carpenter in the construction industry, building and remodeling residential houses and commercial structures, including building decks for friends and family, and constructing a nuclear power plant; he managed jet charter service operations; he was a maintenance manager for apartment complexes; and he was a hotshot commercial truck driver.

Kenny found a loving and lasting marriage with Sharrian Lee Pardue Jarreau. The union lasted over 25 years, until her passing in 2017. It also gained Kenny an instant and amazing family of step-children and grandchildren.

Kenny passed away at his home, on June 1, 2019. He is survived by his father, Joseph Alley Jarreau, Jr., of Baton Rouge; his sisters, Cynthia Jarreau Ward (Hollis), of Baton Rouge, and Jo Ann Jarreau, of Paonia, Colorado; his stepson, Bruce Facundus (Renae), of Woodbridge, Virginia, and grandchildren Camaron, Bruce, Desman, Rowan, Jade, Corinne, Lucy, Wes, and Kolton Facundus; step-daughter Tausha Facundus (Kimberly) of Prairieville, Louisiana; and sister-in-law Carlene Tull, of Denham Springs, Louisiana; his niece, Valerie Abrams, of Baton Rouge; and his great-nephews, Alison Abrams, of Austin, Texas, Joseph Breland, of Baton Rouge, and Joshua Abrams, of Baton Rouge. He was predeceased by his mother, Ann Jarreau, and his wife, Sharrian Jarreau.

Kenny was a generous, jovial, happy-go-lucky person who cared for people and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
