A retired industrial mechanic for Ethyl Corp. and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 87 and a native of Pike County, Miss. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2305 Choctaw Drive, on Friday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Francis Minh Hai Nugyen, celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Betty Ann Devillier Hodges; son, Kenneth D. Hodges; and sister, Arie Murphy. Preceded in death by his three sons, Kenneth Paul Hodges, Timothy Paul Twig Hodges and Michael Lynn Hoppy Hodges; three sisters, Lynnie Walker, Margarite Howze and Neddie Trixie Power; three brothers, James Hodges, Burke Hodges and Alvin Cease Cease Hodges; and parents, Lynn Hodges and Effie Bennett.
