Kenneth Achord

August 21, 1963 — February 2, 2020

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Wayne Achord, native of Baton Rouge, resident of Prairieville, passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2020 at the age of 56. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle and an avid LSU fan. His friendly, unassuming nature yielded him a multitude of friends who loved him. He never met a stranger. His life was dedicated to serving others which led to a very successful lawn care business. Those who knew him well, knew his lifelong love affair with vehicles and boats and how each one he owned was customized to perfection. He loved being outdoors and cherished every moment of his life. His selflessness continued even after death by the generous donation of his body to science for research in finding a cure for his rare cancer. He is survived by his wife, Kristina Meyers Achord, mother Ann Phenix Achord, brother Donald Achord, sisters Pam Comeaux (Greg) and Kim Ryan (Scott) plus extended family members and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Jerome Achord. A memorial to celebrate Kenny’s life will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on February 15, 2020 with visitation from 1pm to 2pm, a memorial service at 2pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Elliott Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 541 Shadows Ln Ste C, Baton Rouge LA 70806. The Achord family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to Jessica Dunaway of Heart of Hospice and Dr Robert Elliott. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at www.resthavenbatonrouge.com.
