Kendall M. Gilleon, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on March 13, 2018 at the age of 84.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
A native of Hattiesburg, MS, Kendall moved to Baton Rouge after high school. He opened Gilleon's Home Furnishing in 1979 until retirement. Kendall was also a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church and Riverbend Baptist Church.
Kendall is survived by his three children, Keith Gilleon, Sonia Gilleon Loupe and husband Dean Loupe, Kelvin Gilleon and wife Billie Gilleon, and daughter-in-law Dian Vernon, as well as his sister Carolyn June Holcomb and husband Billy Holcomb. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Hope and Justin King, Ory and Brianne Loupe, Coty Bradley, Paige and Jimmy Baledge, Kaylie Loupe, Brooke and Dawson Kennard, Ty and Megan Gilleon, and Bailey Gilleon; and 9 great-grandchildren, Faith, Grace, Addie, Briley, Evie, Dayton, Bradley, Bohden, and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents Flora Buckley Gilleon and Jasper Clarence Gilleon.
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Visitation will be from 1 PM until funeral service at 3 PM. Interment will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Services will be performed by Bro. James Parker, pastor and friend. Amazing Grace will be sung.
Pallbearers are Ory Loupe, Justin King, Jimmy Baledge, Danny Anders, Paul Howard, and Harold Howard. Honorary pallbearers are Ty Gilleon and Coty Bradley.
