Keith Cashio

Visitation will be observed for Keith Frederick Cashio, 62, on Friday, July 16, 2021, starting at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge. Father Frank Uter will preside.

Keith passed away on Monday, July 12. He was born in Baton Rouge on May 2, 1959, to Salvador J. Cashio and Dorothy Frederick Cashio. He was a current resident of Ascension Parish with the devoted love of his life, Lisa Primeaux. Keith graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1977. After high school, he was employed in various positions in the petrochemical industry, culminating in a twenty-nine-year career at Exxon-Mobil. Before retiring at 61, he served as president of the Steel Workers Union for over fifteen years, where he represented countless employees, making a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their families. Keith was an accomplished athlete, playing both basketball and baseball. He was also a lifelong fan of the LSU Tigers and an accomplished sports statistician. Keith shared wisdom, strength and insight with all who needed help. He was someone you could count on. Choosing to be an organ donor days before his unexpected death, Keith gave the world the gift of life to others.

Keith will be greatly missed by his life partner Lisa, his two sons Eric and Daniel, his mother Dorothy, siblings Cathy Cashio Bertrand and her spouse Wayne A. Bertrand, Brian D. Cashio and his wife Dusty Cashio, Carla D. Cashio and her husband Wally Salamé, Craig Cashio, and nephew John Cashio.

He will be lovingly remembered by his partner Lisa Primeaux’s family. Beyond his immediate family, he will be missed by a host of Cashio and Frederick cousins, numerous friends, co-workers and everyone whose lives he touched.
