Katty Cheng

Katty Cheng, 88, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away in her home on May 20, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 17, 1933, in Macau, China. She met her husband, Jeffrey, in Hong Kong and later immigrated with their family to San Francisco, CA, and eventually to Baton Rouge, LA in 1979. Katty’s love for food and cooking helped to contribute to the popularity of Hunan Chinese Restaurant. Known for her incredibly generous spirit and love of animals, Katty treated everyone with kindness, compassion, and empathy.

Katty is survived by three children, Agnes Yeung (Edmund) of Atlanta, GA, John, Angela Finch (Scott), grandchildren, Erika Britt (Casey), Simon Yeung, Seth, and Owen Finch, great-grandchild, Story Britt, three sisters, and one brother in Hong Kong and her precious cats.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home on Monday, May 31, 2021, from 8:30 am until services at 10:30 am, followed by burial.
