A loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend to many, she died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in Dallas. She was 24 and a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Katie was a 2004 graduate of Redemptorist High School and a 2009 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, May 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 11, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Schatzle, celebrant. Entombment in church mausoleum. Survived by her parents, Robert and Sidonie Trahan paternal grandfather, Dr. Willie Trahan brother, Brenton Trahan aunts and uncles, Patricia and Earl Yancey, Peggi and Jimmy Packard, Cathi and Doug Richardson, Carolyn and Paul Trahan and Nancy and Billy Trahan and cousins, Chris Yancey and wife Pam, Jennifer Steady and husband Glendon, Austin Richardson, Ami LeBas and husband Luke, Samantha Glass and husband Randy, Daniel Trahan and wife Abby, Travis Trahan and wife Amy, Kurt Trahan and wife Heather, Shea Trahan and wife Cholle, Yancey Steady, Beau Steady, Jordan Staples, Jacob Staples, Mason Glass, Joseph LeBas, Kali Trahan and River Trahan. Preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Genevieve R. Trahan maternal grandparents, Milton L. and Edwina Soulie cousin, Angela Trapani and uncle, Gus Trapani. Pallbearers will be Chris Yancey, Glendon Steady, Austin Richardson, Shea Trahan, Randy Glass, Brad Vavasseur and Jacob Burleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 381059956 or a charity of choice.
