Kathryn Myers Menard, age 89, a native of south Louisiana, and a resident of Porter, TX, passed away on November 7, 2017.
Kathryn graduated from Iota High School and Port Arthur Junior College before marrying and raising a family. Kathryn was an accomplished genealogist, gardener, seamstress and for many years, used her cooking skills to regularly provide Sunday dinner to groups of international students studying at LSU.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Menard Llarena (Salvador), Phyllis Menard Bergeron (Mike) and Mellisa Menard Ledlow (Jim); her sons, William Bryan Menard (Emily) and Mark S. Menard (Susan); and her sisters, Mary M. Seilhan and Sarah M. Prentice. She has 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Donald M. Menard; her parents, Claude and Mary Myers; her brother, George Myers and her great-grandson, Braxton Bergeron.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School / Braxton Bergeron Scholarship Fund, 304 Forest Creek Dr., Scott, LA 70583.
