With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kathryn “Kitty” Kelly Dubroc, 80. A loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, she left in peace on Friday, December 4 precisely as she wished, surrounded by all her children and her beloved dog, Versace.
Born and raised in New Orleans, she graduated from Saint Stephen Catholic School and attended the University of New Orleans. It was there that she met and fell in love with her late husband, Vincent Luke Dubroc. They married in 1965 and moved to Baton Rouge to start a family.
Kathryn lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker, shuttling her busy children everywhere while also working full-time as a histology technician with Pathology Associates. Along her path, she became a beloved friend and a substitute mother to many. Her warm home was always open to anyone in need of a caring ear or a cup of coffee. She loved to cook and insisted that no one left her home hungry.
Above all, Kathryn was a humble and selfless servant of God with a strong Catholic faith and a member of the St. Thomas More parish for many decades. She loved her children and instilled in each strength, gratitude and generosity; values that have served them well. Her home was always filled with music, a passion she passed to her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong lover of animals and surrounded herself with her pups.
She was the cherished mother of Andre Dubroc (Dan Briardy), Nicole Walker (Billy Walker), Alyse Dalton (Robert Dalton) and Michelle Dubroc. She was most proud of her grandchildren: Aidan, Valerien, Reide, Ethan, Maya, JD and Rawley.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Vincent Luke, brothers August Joseph Kelly and William Kelly Jr., and her parents, Marguerite and William Kelly Sr. Survived by her brothers, Robert Kelly and James Kelly and her sisters Marjorie Peytral and Marilyn Melancon.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Due to the current situation, the family has delayed Kathryn’s funeral mass and interment to a future date to be determined, so that all whom wish to celebrate her life together can do so without compromising their safety.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Kathryn’s name to her son-in-law’s sister— The Joan Briardy Kern Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer Fund- https://gf.me/u/za9k6c
