Katherine Swearingen

Katherine Manning Swearingen, a resident of Baker, an active role model of the community whose devotion to hard work and love of family touched all who knew her. She passed away peacefully on April 13, 2012 at Northoaks Memorial Hospital in Hammond. She was 86, born on August 20, 1925 in Clinton, La. She is survived by her son, Robert Bob Eugene Swearingen, of Springfield, La and wife Tammy daughterinlaw, Joyce Pimentel Swearingen of Baker, La eight grandchildren, Beth, Shannon, Missy, Shawna, Brenda, John, Summer, and Crystal ten greatgrandchildren, Stacy Wayne, Brook, April, Bobby, Johnny, Sean, Sammy, Perry, Ethan, and Kylin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Robert Swearingen and son, Johnny Wayne Swearingen. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Monday, April 16 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at St. Isidore the Farmer Church in Baker from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
