Katherine Drago

Katherine Polito Drago passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at age 84. Katie leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Benny Drago; two daughters, Marie and husband Joe Smith and Theresa Stewart; son, Benny Drago Jr. and wife Denise, of St. Amant; eight grandchildren, Michelle and husband Paul Russo, Kristie and husband Scott Smith, Erik Smith and wife Michelle, Belinda and husband Josh Merritt, Kelli Drago Lee, Stephen, Christopher and Matthew Drago; and seven great-grandchildren, Lauryn Ryan and Jordyn Russo, Jason Smith, Matthew Smith, Thomas and Beverly Smith. Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Annie Canella Polito; brothers, Kelly and Frank Polito; and sisters, Josie and husband Joseph LeJeune, Annie and husband Charles Harrison, Frances and husband James Durham. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Dec. 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Saturday, Dec. 27, from 11 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, with the Rev. Mike Moroney, celebrant. Special thanks to the staff at Flannery Oaks Guest House, Hospice in His Care and to friends Martha Wilson and Shirley Tillman.
