Karl Edward Bland, 55, of Baton Rouge Louisiana, departed this life October 8, 2015.
He was born December 9, 1959, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to Arcell and Lucille Bland.
He attended Saint Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He continued his education at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1985 completing his military career with the rank as Captain. He was an employee of the East Baton Rouge Head Start Program for 25 years.
He was born again in 1982 in Monterey, CA while serving in the Armed Forces, he returned home to New Orleans, LA where he became a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church of New Orleans under the leadership of Pastor John Cupit. He later moved to Baton Rouge and served in ministry at the Church of Ephesus under Pastor Eugene Jones and Richard Bromfield. He was a bible study teacher, Sunday school teacher, and most of all a Giant in the Faith.
He is survived by his father and mother, Arcell and Lucille Bland of New Orleans, LA, devoted aunt Rosetta Porter of Baton Rouge, LA
