Karen Bostick Beale was born on May 14, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. Growing up she lived in numerous places across the country, finally settling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she married her husband of 54 years, William R. Beale, Jr. Together they raised their three children here in Baton Rouge. She graduated from OLOL School of Nursing in 1979. After graduating, she pursued her love of psychiatric nursing, working as a nursing administrator in numerous hospitals and health care facilities. She loved to read, write, and work word puzzles. She loved all of her animals, celebrating holidays, and collecting memories.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, father, William C. Bostick and mother Bertha Lee Tonn Bostick, daughter, Ronda Beale, brothers, William C. Bostick, Jr. and Teddy Allen Bostick.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Dawn Beale, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jack Mitchell, and two lifelong best friends, sister-in-law, Bobbie Bostick and cousin, Judy Hefner. She also leaves behind six grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Jordy and Jacky Mitchell, Brandon, Thomas, Jonathan, and Daniel Beale.
Pallbearers will be Bryan, Thomas, Jonathan, and Daniel Beale, Jack Mitchell and Bryn Parker. An honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Beale.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Resthaven Funeral home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, June 7th from 12:30 pm until religious services at 2:30 pm. Interment immediately following in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
