A loving wife, mom and grandmother, June B. Salbador, 79, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008. Born and raised in New Orleans, she spent the last 31 years in Baton Rouge as a full-time homemaker. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elwood B. Salbador Sr.; parents, Charles L. and Thelma G. Baker; and sister, Elaine Baker. She is survived by seven children, Elwood Jr. and wife Cindy, Clayton and wife Cathy, Gordon and wife Susie, Terri Riga and husband Bret, David and wife Kay, Allen and wife Mary, and Darrell and fiance Karen; and 14 grandchildren. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Scott Schmiedling, pastor. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Baton Rouge, and was a former member of Our Savior and Prince of Peace Lutheran churches in New Orleans. Her sons will serve as pallbearers.
