A resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a native of Napoleonville, Louisiana, she passed away at her home on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 4:30pm. She was 88 years old and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Wednesday, December 15th from 6pm to 8pm. Visiting resumes at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church,15615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday, December 16th from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, conducted by Rev. Jason M. Labbe. Entombment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. She is survived by her two daughters and a soninlaw, Catherine and Marty Peters of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Peggy Berniard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana one son and daughterinlaw, Tom and Charlotte Berniard of Lafayette, Louisiana a daughterinlaw, Terry Berniard of Lafayette, Louisiana one brother, Robert Bobby Talbot of Thibodaux, Louisiana ten grandchildren, Martin Peters of Phoenix, Arizona, Charles Peters of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Patrick Peters and wife Catey of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Peters of South Bend, Indiana, Trey Berniard of Houston, Texas and his fianc, Ashley Capone of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Emily Berniard of Baton Rogue, Louisiana, Geoff Berniard of Lafayette, Louisiana, Matthew Berniard and wife, Amiee of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tiffany Berniard and fianc, Doug Burns of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Spenser Berniard of Lafayette, Louisiana three great grandchildren, Martin Peters, IV and Susan Catherine Peters both of Phoenix, Arizona, and Isabella Burns of Lafayette, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Berniard a son, Stephen Berniard her parents, Arthur C., Sr and Anna P. Talbot siblings, A.C. Talbot, Jr Thelma LeBlanc Dutch Talbot Brownie Melancon Itizi McCollum Anna French Billy Talbot and Flo Fairchild. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Telle Belles, Ladies Altar Society and was Designated Master of Arts and Crafts. She also belonged to the Bowling Leagues at Don Carters and was an avid bridge player. She loved LSU, Florida State and Saints Football. She devoted her life to educating and raising four children to become successful adults and parents. The family would like to give a special thanks to Gilda and Rose for their caring and patience, as well as her neighbors, Glenn and Cornelia Conques for all of their help.
