Julius "Juju" Mire, Jr.
A native of Slidell, and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on August 17, 2015 at the age of 77.
Julius was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and boating, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and watching his grandson play ball.
He attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he played football and was a midshipman, and then graduated from USL. He went on to be a Legislative Liaison for Conoco/Dupont and the Executive Director of LOMA.
Julius is survived by his wife, Annette Mire; his daughter, Shelly York and husband James; his sons, Blane Mire and wife Jennifer, Jason Truax and wife Betsy Bombet; his five grandchildren, Cassie Giordano, Aimee Guidry, and Connor, Hannah, and Abby Rose Mire; his three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Brody, and Summer; his twin brother James Mire and wife Linda; his two brothers Bobby Mire and wife Susan, Paul Mire and wife Debbie; his sister, Jan Felder and husband Mike, and his brother-in-law, Dent Wood and wife Linda.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius Andrew Mire, Sr. and Ethel Robert Mire; and his two brothers, Tommy Mire, and Johnny Mire.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
