Julie Burroughs Wright passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the age of 72.
Julie’s hobbies and interests included artwork, gardening, cross stitch, cooking, dance, calligraphy, LSU sports, Pokeno, scrapbooking, and a holiday decorator supreme. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing sports including badminton, tennis, golf (12 handicap). Julie was very family oriented, dedicated to her children and grandchildren. Never meeting a stranger, Julie was loved and admired by so many. She never had a negative thought, always the positive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Burroughs.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, David Wright; children, Jordan Wright (Jill Wright) and Caroline McCauley (Aaron McCauley); grandchildren, Collins McCauley, Major McCauley, and Vincent Wright; siblings, Gail Boucvalt (Chris Boucvalt), Gerry Burroughs, and Richard Burroughs; and nieces and nephews, Gabe and Megan Boucvalt, Emma and Alden Boucvalt.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Pinnacle Hospice, Griswold, The Crossing at Clarity Hospice, and Bon Jour Social Center.
