Judy Ann Stickling, born March 10, 1940 in Lenoir, North Carolina,
died on her birthday, March 10, 2013. Judys energy and love of life
were boundless, always had a cheerful smile, her favorite saying
Nothing Just Happens was how she lived her life. Whether it was good
or not so good, things happened for a reason, although we may not know
why something happened for many years later. Judy was a 73 year old
loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who was blessed to
have been born to Godly parents, William and Ruby Cline. Her family
attended Kings Creek Baptist Church in Lenoir, where her mother taught
a Sunday school class for beginners for 25 years. This was the same
church where Judy made her profession of Faith in Jesus Christ at a
very young age, where she was baptized in the creek, which flowed
beside the church, while the congregation sang Bringing in the
Sheep. Her favorite Bible verse was 1 Corinthians 15:5455. Judy
lived an extraordinary life knowing and following the teaching of our
Lord Jesus. Soon after she graduated from Kings Creek High School,
where she excelled, skipping two grade levels, she attended
Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She obtained a
teaching degree in 1961, and went on to teach elementary school
children for many years. Several years later Judy met and married the
love of her life, Bill Stickling. Judy is preceded in death by
parents, William A. Cline and Ruby West Cline of Lenoir brothers,
Jack D. Cline, and Charles R. Cline sisters, Marie Worley and Doris
Fox. Judy is survived by her husband of 47 years, William Bill one
son, Bryan D. Stickling and wife Sharon two daughters, Shannon and
husband Terry Richard, and Melissa and husband Michael Craven and
five grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Stickling, Kayleigh and Madison
Richard, and Gage Xander Craven.
