She was born in New Orleans July 9, 1945. A loving mother and grandmother, she died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, surrounded by family and friends at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge after a short but valiant fight with cancer. She will always be remembered for her passion and love of God, family, friends, gardening and all animals. Survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard E. Rick Ricker two sons, Brent and wife Amalia, and Brian and wife Cathy three grandchildren, Amber, Isaiah and Kaleb Ricker two sisters, Karlene Delaune, and Cheryl Ranna and husband Jimmy two brothers, Karl Dietz Jr. and Frederick Dietz and numerous nieces and nephews, including her godchild, Rebecca Ranna, who occupied a special place in her heart. Sincere thanks to best friends, Kitzie Major, Gail Rossi, Charlotte Tillman and Chris Baker, for their unwavering support. A very special thank you to Terry Tillman of Resthaven Gardens of Memory for his tremendous support and guidance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial account in her name at Baton Rouge Fire Department Federal Credit Union at 225 2748383. There will be an informal Celebration of Life at her home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22.
