Juanita Hall Wells, born September 5, 1939, a resident of LaPlace, LA, passed away in her LaPlace, LA home on November 22, 2024, surrounded by her closest family!
Nita, as she preferred to be called, was a 1957 graduate of Baker high school. When she was a teenager, she worked in the movie theatre with her two best friends, Jo and Joanne! After her teen years, she worked as a bookkeeper in Baton Rouge. Then worked at a bank and was the manager of the Chicken Diner in Baton Rouge for a number of years before working at South Central Bell as an operator, and then in the Business office as a Technical Dispatcher. Nita loved to dress nicely, and match everything, especially shoes! Years ago, she loved bowling, ceramics and lighthouses. She collected and made ceramic dolls. She loved to travel, dance, go to the theatre, and entertain in her home; she was a great cook and had special candy recipes! Nita became a member of Celebration Church when she moved from her home on False River after the death of her husband, C.O. Nita was still very outgoing and always had a lot of fun! She loved the card game SKIPBO and especially loved teaching friends how to play! She enjoyed the Reserve Senior Center 3 days a week, her Life Group with her Celebration Church friends, and was a proud, faithful member of the S.W.A.T. Ministry (Seniors With A Testimony) at Celebration Church. Nita loved her family, and frequently traveled to see her grandchildren and great-grand babies in other states. This is the first year she has missed their birthday celebrations.
Nita is survived by her three children while married to Larry K. Sullivan, Cindy Sullivan Meilleur, husband, Chris, Michael Larry Sullivan and Mark Kendrick Sullivan, and like a daughter, Dawn Mariner-Thompson. Eight grandchildren, Amanda Sokolik, husband, Matthew, Kristen Sullivan, Michael L. Sullivan, II, Matthew Sullivan, wife, Jannelle, Courtney Craven, husband, Luke, Stanley Sullivan, Jordan Sullivan, and Maya Sullivan. Seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kaden, Kallie, John, Stacy, Calum, and one on the way. Two sisters, Connie H. Olah, (Ronnie) and Florence H. Lange, brother, Chester Hall, Niece, Teresa O. Puckett, and nephew Ronnie Olah. Many friends all over the United States and Central America!
