Juanita Cacioppo

Juanita Goudeau Cacioppo, 92, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 2 pm. A resident of Baton Rouge, LA and a native of Erwinville, LA. Mrs. Cacioppo was a member of the Baton Rouge Art Guild, the Associated Women in the Arts and the Louisiana Malacological Society among many others. She and her husband were avid shell collectors who traveled the world building their collection. She was a talented artist who received accolades and awards during her artistic career. She was a graduate of the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA. She is survived by her sister, Louise G. Porter children, Annette Smith and her husband Rodney, Christine Sutton and her husband Robert, Dennis Cacioppo and wife Mary Grace, Paul Cacioppo and wife Melanie, and Julie Cacioppo 10 grandchildren, Claire Allen, Rob Sutton, Juliet Waldrop, Sarah Palmer, Anne Moore, Vincent Cacioppo, Rachel McGee, Camille Cacioppo, Laura Cacioppo, and Joy Cacioppo and 11 greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Dionisus V. Cacioppo. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy, 450 Marquette Ave., on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
