Joshua Thurmond

A loving husband, father and son, and native and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the age of 30 as a result of an automobile accident. He is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Kara Scimeca Thurmond two children, Luke and Cole parents, John and Jennifer Thurmond sister, Jessica Thurmond fatherinlaw and motherinlaw, Joe and Judy Scimeca and two sistersinlaw, Anne Orillion and Beth Buuck. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Phyllis Thurmond and maternal grandparents, J.B. and Betty Tucker. Josh was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a 1997 graduate of MBS, 2001 graduate of Bishop Sullivan, and 2006 graduate of LSU. Josh was a CPA for Edgen Murray and an avid golfer. Visitation will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament, 15615 Jefferson Hwy., on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm, officiated by Rev. Phil Spano.
