Josephine Ferrara

At the age of 92, our beloved, Josephine, a devout Catholic, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 21, 2013. She will be dearly and greatly missed by her family. Josephine was born on June 14, 1921 in New Orleans, Louisiana. A native of Metro New Orleans for 84 years, she later resided with her son, Curtis Ferrara in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Josephine worked for South Central Bell, and for the companys 25th Anniversary, she was honored to be chosen as one of the 25 Southern Belles. In later years, she worked in the office of Simon Hubig Pie Company in New Orleans. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Ferrara her parents, Wallace Presti Simone and Rose Columbo Simone and her sister, Margaret S. Landry. She is survived by daughter and soninlaw, Rosalyn F. La Bella and Charles, Jr. son and daughterinlaw, Wallace G. Ferrara and Cindy son Curtis M. Ferrara sister Concetta S. Jones grandchildren, Charles R. La Bella, III, and wife Denise Laurie L. Roth and husband Ricky Rachel F. de St. Germain, and husband Bob greatgrandchildren, Kaylee M. La Bella, Ariel M. Ringe, Tabatha A. Ringe, Sophie M. La Bella, Zackary M. Roth, Logan C. La Bella, Alyssa T. Thompson, Hunter C. Roth stepgreatgrandchildren, Haley K. de St. Germain and Brooke D. de St. Germain. Visitation will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Ln., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 9 am until 11 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am celebrated by Reverend Jerry Martin. Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Charles R. La Bella, III, Ricky J. Roth, Bob D. de St. Germain, Logan C. La Bella, Hunter C. Roth, and Dr. Leo A. Pei. Honorary Pallbearers are Zackary M. Roth and Harold A. Olivier.
