Josephine Cinquemano Easley, a long- time resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on May 12, 2018, in New Roads, LA at the age of 97.
She was bom on June 15, 1920, in Lake Charles, LA to Anthony Cinquemano and Annette Dazzio. Josephine spent her younger years in Corsicana TX. She was fifteen when her family moved to Baton Rouge. Her life spanned almost a hundred years of history. On October 9, 1941, she married Edward William Easley Sr. Three months later; he left to fight in WWII. It would be nearly four years before he returned. While he was gone, Josephine worked as a Red Cross Nurse. Together they had nine children. On May 22, 1978, her beloved Eddie died leaving her a widow at the age of 56. Finally, they have been reunited after forty long years.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Josephine devoted most of her time to working with and teaching children, many who remember her love, kindness, and perseverance. When her granddaughter (Janell Christiansen) asked her, "Grandma, you have lived for almost 100 years. If you could tell the world any advice what would it be?" Josephine answered, "I would tell them to always be honest, be faithful to your spouse, and love God."
Josephine leaves behind five daughters and four sons. Kay Francis Chiasson (Gillis), Edward W. Easley Jr. (Suz), James Weldon Easley (Linda), Mary Ann Dixon, Patricia Annette Toups (George), John Paul Easley (Nayda), Theresa Agnes Byrne (Scott), Michael Anthony Easley (Pam), Bernadette Lucia Kunz (Edward). Thirty-six grandchildren, sixty-two greatgrandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. Joseph Cinquemano, Thomas M. Cinquemano, Mary Ann DiGerolamo, Victor Cinquemano, Louis Raymond Cinquemano, Francis Hilda Bourque, and two grandsons, Erik James Wilson, and Jared Michael Easley.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on May 18, 2018, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on May 19, 2018, from 9:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow.
