A district fire chief who retired from the Baton Rouge Fire Dept. after 30 years of service, he died at 7 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, in Baton Rouge. He was 80, a native of Sun, and a resident of White Castle. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Sunday, July 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Monday, July 2, from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his second wife, Ruth T. Glaser Watts daughter, Amanda W. Walker and husband, Greg sons, David Watts and fiance, Tammy Calhoun, James Watts and wife, Yvonne, and Brent Watts and fiance, Sonya Boudreaux sister, Helen Bywater bonus children, Shirley Glaser Morris, Gordy Glaser and wife, Colleen, Bobby Glaser and wife, Jami 7 grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren and two stepgreatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Betty Joyce Sanchez Watts his parents, a brother, four sisters, and a daughterinlaw. He loved and lived for his family. He loved fishing, gardening and dancing.
