Joseph Comeaux

Joseph “Joe” Comeaux a resident of Baton Rouge passed away January 17, 2019 at the age of 82 of natural causes. He was born on August 16, 1936 in Baton Rouge.

Mr. Comeaux served 9 years with the Louisiana Army Nation Guard. He was a sergeant at Fort Polk when they opened. He worked for 3 years with Barbara Brother, 10 years with Petro-Chem, and then retired after 30 years with the East Baton Rouge City Parish as a plumber.

His hobbies and best memories were raising his kids, taking his kids fishing, shrimping, crawfishing and hunting with Caroline.

Mr. Comeaux is survived by his 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Roxie and John Hamilton Jr. and Lisa and Jerry Maxwell, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Alyssa Comeaux and Rodney and Jan Comeaux, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother, Donald Comeaux, sisters, Margaret Terrell, Gaynell McElwee, Theresa German, and Esther Amond, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Caroline Amond Comeaux, parents, Irene Aucoin Comeaux and John Riley Comeaux, grandson, Kyle Louis Comeaux, brothers, Robert Comeaux and Charles Russell Lieux.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 11:00am until the funeral service at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Mr. Comeaux’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
