Joseph Christiana, Sr.

PaPa Joe passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the age of 72. He was a native of New Orleans, a resident of Baton Rouge and 50 year owner of Joe Christiana Food Distributors, Inc. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, August 7 from 9am until a memorial service at 11:30am. Conducted by Rev. Trey Nelson. He is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa and Dina Christiana, 1 son, Joseph O. Christiana, Jr. and wife Kimberly, 2 brothers, Nick Christiana and wife Lynn, Frank Christiana and wife Cindy, 5 grandchildren, Louren Carlino, Joseph O. Joc Christiana, III, Derrick D. Christiana, Casie and Cadie Courrege, as well as numerous close friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marylyn Richoux Christiana, a son, Danny Christiana, a brother, Anthony Christiana and his parents, Nick and Alice Lassiegne Christiana. He was a philanthropist to a variety of organizations including churches and community organizations such as sponsorship of many little league teams, fraternal order of police, and was a major donator of food supplies for relief workers involved in the September 11th tragedy a member of St. Jude Catholic church for over 30 years and a loving and generous father and grandfather.
