A retired carpenter and member of Carpenters Local Union 1098, he died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 86 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and in the chapel Wednesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his four sons, David Nolan, Jeffrey Allen Barbay and wife Lori, Timothy James Barbay and wife Vicki, and Ted Andrew Barbay and wife Jana 10 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Cecilia Barbay parents, Joseph Nolan and Marion Huggett Barbay sister, Marion Oivanki and brother, Edwin Barbay.
