Jorge Luis Alonso of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on September 8, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Alonso; sons, Titi, Papote, and Manuel Alonso; daughter, Geormart Alonso; brothers, Wiche and Jose Alonso; sisters, Damaris, Nydia, Awilda, and Myrna Alonso; granddaughter, Jorliz Alonso; grandson, Alfonso Alonso, Jr.; and stepson, Geoffrey Caruso.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Rivera; father, Alfonso Alonso; brother, Luis Alonso; sisters, Mayda, Bruni, and Irma Alonso.
Jorge was born on January 8, 1950 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. He later moved to the mainland to work for Halliburton where he rose to the position of Master Equipment Operator and eventually retired with that title.
Jorge never lost his zeal for life and loved dancing to salsa music and cooking. He was especially fond of marinating and grilling chicken, pork, seafood, and all cuts of beef.
Jorge was a kind man ready to help anyone in need and soothe those who were anxious with the calming advice, “Let it unfold.” Que Dios te bendiga: God bless you.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 beginning at 2:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM. Private burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
