John Valenti

May 19, 1920 — June 9, 2012

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and a retired marble and tile contractor died at 11:22 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his home. He was 92, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Donaldsonville. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 5 pm until 8 pm with recitation of the rosary at 7 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 13 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian burial at 11 am. Burial to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Runfalo Valenti children and their spouses, Kathleen V. and Juan Morales, Suzanne V. and Dwight Jackson, Joy C. Valenti, Johnette V. and Steve Turner, and John A. and Julie Valenti grandchildren and their spouses, Jill J. and Christopher Congemi, John J. Morales, Kelly M. and Charles LeFevre, and Grant Turner greatgrandchildren, Jackson Congemi, Cullen Congemi, Rex LeFevre, and Harvey LeFevre and brother, Sam Valenti. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosario and Mary Traina Valenti brothers, Jasper, Dominic, Joe, Charlie, Louis, and Frank Valenti sisters, Agnes V. Sciortino, Virginia V. Landry, and Sara V. Labello.
