John Michael Tucker, a senior residential appraiser, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, after a lengthy illness. He was 52. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home and Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Aug. 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Mike was born May 6, 1958, in Shreveport to Clyde Rupert Tucker Sr. and Marjorie White Tucker. He grew up in Baton Rouge and was a 1976 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a 1985 general studies graduate of LSU, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. For many years he was a residential and commercial real estate appraiser in Virginia. In recent years he was a mortgage originator and broker. His professional affiliation and licensures were in Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. He was wellknown among friends and relatives for his Cajun cooking, love of LSU football and joke telling. He also enjoyed playing polo on Sunday mornings in Virginia and attending the Gold Cup steeplechase twice a year in Middleburg. In addition to his mother, a resident of Prairieville, he is survived by a brother, Clyde Rupert Tucker Jr. and wife Anne, of Prairieville a sister, Rebecca Pennington and husband Royce, of Thibodaux two nephews, John and Matthew Tucker and two nieces, Taylor and Ashley Landry. He was preceded in death by his father a brother, Charles Wayne his fraternal grandparents, Zolly Goebel Tucker Sr. and Opal Hill Tucker and his maternal grandparents, John Floyd White and Lucy Lawson White. Pallbearers will be Clyde Tucker Jr., John Christopher Tucker, Royce Pennington, Weldon McInnis, Warren Holden and Graham Atkins.
